Women's Volleyball Noonan named AVCA New York Region Freshman of the Year

New York University freshman middle blocker Erin Noonan was honored as the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) New York Region Freshman of the Year following an outstanding debut season.

The San Diego, CA native is currently second on the team in both kills and total blocks and has totaled an impressive 497.5 points for the season. Noonan has already made her mark on the NYU record books, recording the fifth-highest single season serve percentage in team annals (.929) as well as tying for the third most solo blocks in a season with 23.

She has helped lead the team to the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Division III South tournament, where the team upset #2-seeded New Jersey City University and is currently preparing to go up against Carnegie Mellon University this coming Saturday, November 10 in Pittsburgh, PA.
